About Byron
Byron Massey is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant dedicated to improving patient quality of life through effective manual therapy, patient education, and evidence-based exercise interventions. A graduate of South University in Austin, Byron has built a broad and impressive clinical career spanning outpatient orthopedics, geriatric and neurological rehabilitation, acute care, and private practice settings across the Austin area.
Byron brings extensive experience from roles where he treated patients ranging from post-operative athletes to complex neurological cases including Parkinson’s disease, TBI, CVA, and dementia. He is now proud to bring that depth of experience to the team at STAR Physical Therapy.
He holds a PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopedics through the Evidence in Motion Institute and a Dry Needling Certification through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, reflecting his commitment to advancing his clinical skills beyond the standard of care. He is also a certified EMT and holds current AHA CPR and BLS certification.
Before his healthcare career, Byron served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, completing two combat deployments as a Signals Intelligence intercept operator and team leader. That foundation of leadership, precision, and service continues to define how he shows up for his patients and colleagues every day. Byron is also an active community volunteer, serving with Austin Pets Alive! and as a member of the American Legion Veteran’s Organization and the National Eagle Scout Association.
